Interventional Radiologist
Dr. Ilyas Hasanov is the first interventional radiologist of Azerbaijan. Many interventional radiological operations were performed by Ilyas Hasanov's team for the first time in Azerbaijan as a local specialist.
Education
In 1988-1998, after graduating from secondary school No. 249 of Baku city, in the same year he entered the 1st Faculty of General Medicine of Azerbaijan Medical University. In 2004, he graduated from the surgery department of that faculty.
In 2004-2006, he completed residency in radiology at the Central X-ray-Radiology Institute located in St. Petersburg, Russia, and in 2006-2008 in X-ray surgery.
From 2008 to 2009, he was in the specialty of interventional radiology, especially interventional neuroradiology, at Asklepios Klinik Altona in Hamburg (Germany).
In 2009-2010, he took long-term courses on interventional radiology at Başkent University Hospital in Istanbul, Medical Park hospitals.
In 2010, he completed a course on invasive interventions in venous vessels under Professor Paolo Zamboni at the Center for Vascular Diseases in Ferrara, Italy. It should be noted that Paolo Zamboni is the first expert in the world to apply Balloon Angioplasty and stent implantation of venous vessels during CCSVI, which is considered a new treatment for Multiple Sclerosis, which is very common and the treatment of which is still not fully known.
In 2010, on November 24, he defended his PhD thesis on the treatment of metastatic tumors of the liver by invasive methods in St. Petersburg and earned the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Sciences. Many scientific articles have been published in local and foreign journals.
Experience
In 2009-2012, he started as an interventional radiologist at the Central Customs Hospital.
During the years 2009-2013, he was the General Manager and member of the board of directors of the Avrasiya Clinic. He also worked as an interventional radiologist.
From 2013 to 2015, he worked as the chief doctor and interventional radiologist of Medistyle Hospital.
In 2015-2016, he worked as the chief doctor and interventional radiologist of Avrasiya Hospital.
During 2016-2018, he worked as a director and an interventional radiologist at Ganja International Hospital.
In 2018-2019, he worked as a director at Synergy Group LLC.
In 2019-2020, he worked as the chief doctor and interventional radiologist of Medistyle Hospital.
In 2020-2021, he was the deputy chief doctor at the FHN Modular Hospital.
In 2021-2022, he worked as a director and an interventional radiologist at Medistyle Hospital.
In 2022-2023, he continued his work as an interventional radiologist at Olimp Hospital.
In 2023-2026, he continued his work as an interventional radiologist at Zafaran Hospital.
He currently serves as director of the Interventional Heart and Vascular Center at the AMU Teaching Therapeutic Clinic, where he also practises as an interventional radiologist.
