Treatment of uterine bleeding

Uterine bleeding

Stopping bleeding in uterine bleeding with the least painful method, without surgery.

It is normal for women to have a menstrual cycle for 7-10 days. If the menstrual period is not regular, if the bleeding is longer or more than normal, if there are changes in the menstrual periods, it can be abnormal uterine bleeding. The menstrual cycle starts from the first day of the bleeding time and continues until the first day of the menstrual cycle again. The menstrual cycle is usually 28 days, but it can be longer or shorter. If the cycle is longer than 35 days or shorter than 21 days, it is already considered an abnormal menstrual cycle and abnormal bleeding.

Abnormal menstrual bleeding means:

  • Bleeding between periods (within 28 days).
  • Bleeding after intercourse
  • Bleeding in the form of dripping at any time of the menstrual cycle
  • Excessive or prolonged menstrual bleeding

Other abnormal bleeding:

  • Pregnancy
  • Premature pregnancy
  • Ectopic pregnancy
  • Bleeding related to contraceptive methods (spiral, hormonal drugs, etc.)
  • Inflammation of the uterus or cervix
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Coagulation disorders
  • Polyps
  • Different types of malignant tumors (childhood-childhood neck-vagina)
  • Bleeding during chronic diseases (thyroid, diabetes) can be mentioned.

Treatment

Treatment for abnormal bleeding depends on many factors, the cause of the bleeding, the patient's age, the severity of the bleeding, the desire to have children in the future, etc. depends on factors. The doctor may prescribe hormonal or other drug treatment, and surgical and invasive methods may also be applied. The result of the treatment will be known after several menstrual cycles. If the patient is pregnant, the doctor may need to repeat the necessary tests before starting any treatment.

Stopping bleeding in uterine bleeding with the least painful, invasive method without surgical incisions:

In the case of bleeding due to pelvic pathologies: after a caesarean section, malignant tumors of the pelvic organs, pregnancy in the cervix and other similar cases, if the bleeding cannot be controlled, the bleeding vessel is invasively embolized and the bleeding stops.

Interventional termination of cervical pregnancy (provided the hysterectomy is not performed)

About ectopic pregnancies: As the name suggests, during this pregnancy, the fetus develops outside the uterus. During a normal pregnancy, the fetus should pass through the fallopian tubes and attach to the wall of the uterus. But due to some reasons (this is determined after gynecological examinations), the fetal egg does not fall into the uterus and begins to develop in different parts of the abdominal cavity.

According to ectopic pregnancy location:

  • In the ovaries
  • In pipes
  • On the cervix
  • It is in the abdominal cavity.

The most common case is tubal pregnancy, and women after 35 years of age are in the risk group. If a tubal pregnancy develops, the tube may rupture. During the termination of this pregnancy, the tubes are surgically removed. As a result of the pregnancy in the ovaries, the ovary is traumatized and as a result the ovary may rupture.

Cervical pregnancy is one of the most dangerous pregnancies. The difference of this pregnancy from others is that it can be longer, in some cases the fetus develops up to 24-26 weeks, sometimes the child has a chance to survive, but at the same time this pregnancy is very dangerous, it can result in the death of both the child and the mother. During the termination of the cervical pregnancy, in many cases, the woman's uterus is removed, which ends the chance of becoming a mother in the future. Only with invasive Radiological methods can cervical pregnancy be terminated, provided that the uterus is not removed.

Symptoms of ectopic pregnancy:

  • Intensive contractions in the groin area, in most cases, turn into cutting pains.
  • Dark colored discharge, unexpected periods menstruation and strong bleeding
  • High temperature- indicator of rupture of the organ and internal bleeding.

In order for a woman to recover from an extra-uterine pregnancy with minimal trauma, a woman should consult a gynecologist if she suspects that she is pregnant, undergo an ultrasound scan and determine whether the fetus is in the uterus, and terminate the pregnancy if there is an extra-uterine pregnancy. Early period detection is very important for a woman's health and her ability to conceive again in the future.

In modern medicine, it is possible to prevent bleeding in time by means of Minimally Invasive Technologies (Embolization of Childhood Arteries). Thus, there is no need for hysterectomy (uterus removal). If a cervical pregnancy is terminated by an invasive radiological method, a woman has a chance to become a mother again.
