Ischemic stroke treatment

A stroke is when the blood flow to the brain suddenly decreases and stops. In most cases, a stroke occurs due to an unexpected blockage of the arteries leading to the brain. Among the people, this disease is called "narrowing or blockage of the cerebral vessels". Dec. In rarer cases, a stroke can occur when one of the brain vessels is damaged and blood flows to the brain tissues and meninges.

An ischemic stroke is caused by a blockage or narrowing of blood vessels in the brain. Brain-works with fresh blood from the arteries. Blood flowing to the brain carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain, carbon dioxide and cellular waste are removed from the brain. If the vessel is compressed (blocked), the brain cannot get enough blood, and within a few minutes, brain cells begin to die. This condition is called a"brain hemorrhage". That is why first aid for ischemic stroke is very important. Unfortunately, in most cases, an ischemic stroke does not manifest itself with earlier symptoms, it occurs very suddenly.

The complications of an ischemic stroke depend on which vessels of the brain are blocked and to what size. A stroke can cause sudden loss of vision, weakness, loss of sensation, and difficulty walking. Since different regions of the brain control different sensations and functions of the body, mainly depending on the location of the stroke and its sphere of influence on the immediate environment, complications also arise in these parts of the body. It is necessary to examine the first signs of ischemic stroke, and in the presence of these symptoms, it is imperative to urgently take the patient to the hospital.

Situations that should be suspected:

  • Two visions
  • Unilateral weakness
  • Emotional disorders
  • Sudden onset headaches
  • In case of nausea, vomiting, you should definitely consult a doctor!!!

In early ischemic stroke (within the first 6-8 hours), surgery is performed to open the vessels invasively. After the veins are opened, the patient does not have any complications (disability) after a stroke.

The most accurate and fastest brain bleeding is indicated by computed tomography.

The role of computer tomography in cerebral hemorrhage

Computed tomography is considered one of the most accurate examinations for cerebral hemorrhage. A CT scan is performed on a patient with brain hemorrhage as the first examination in the hospital. The most accurate and fastest brain bleeding is indicated by computed tomography. According to the examination results, the patient is admitted to the angioraphic office and invasive intervention begins.
