Uterine fibroids is a benign derivative formed from the muscle. Fibroids do not become cancerous in any case. The size of fibroids can vary from a few millimeters to 20-25 cm. The exact causes of uterine fibroid formation have still not been definitively determined, but there is evidence about the relationship of fibroids with hormonal regulation.
Currently, there is no ideal method for treating uterine fibroids, all methods have advantages and disadvantages. However, special attention should be paid to uterine artery embolization (BAE), which is one of the most modern and effective methods of treating uterine fibroids.
UAE (uterine artery embolization) is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require a surgical incision. During this operation, under local anesthesia, a small hole in the thigh area is entered into the femoral atrium, and with the help of thin special catheters, plastic particles are injected into the vessels feeding the myoma, as a result, blood circulation in the nodes stops completely. After the blood circulation stops, the muscle cells that make up the myoma die.
